The Cool Head Company’s primary responsibility is the safety and wellbeing of its course participants. Children and their families should feel confident that we have taken all reasonable steps to create a secure and supportive environment in which children can grow, learn and have fun. All our trainers are experienced and have been chosen for their professional expertise, organisational skills and enthusiasm. All trainers are CRB checked. Children are supervised at all times during the courses.

General Guidelines
It is the policy of The Cool Head Company, so far as is reasonably practicable, to:

1. establish and maintain a safe and healthy environment in the venues where the courses take place;
2. establish and maintain safe working procedures among staff and children;
3. ensure there is an adult with First Aid training on site at every course;
4. provide adequate supervision on all outings.

Responsibilities of Children
All children are expected, within their ability, to:

1. be personally responsible for the safety of themselves and the other children;
2. dress sensibly (please wear suitable footwear);
3. respect all the safety rules of the premises and in particular the instructions of the teaching staff in the event of an emergency;
4. use and not purposefully misuse, neglect or interfere with things provided for the course or for safety purposes at the course venue;
5. behave in a respectful manner towards the trainers and the other children.

Policy on Bad Behaviour
Behaviour that is disruptive, dangerous to others or destructive will not be tolerated.

The trainers’ judgement will be final in this regard. In such cases, parents will be called and requested to remove their child from the course as soon as possible.

No refunds will be given.

Responsibilities of Parents
Parents are expected to:

1. inform us of any special needs, allergies, medical or psychological conditions of any child before the course begins;
2. provide lunch and/or snacks for the children, and to protect those children with nut allergies to ensure no nut products or products containing traces of nuts are brought to a course;
3. provide hats and sun cream for their children during hot weather.
